You may suppress some item alerts from showing up on the corresponding staff action. For example, you may choose to suppress the alert when checking out a missing item.

Go to Administration → Local Administration → Item Alert Suppression . Click Create. In the pop-up window, select the Alert Type from the dropdown list. Make sure your library is in the Org Unit box. Click Save.
